Each biennium, Sigma installs a new president at the international level. At the 47th Biennial Convention, we proudly installed Sandra C. Garmon Bibb, DNSc, RN, FAAN, and introduced her as the 35th president of Sigma. With influence from the Board of Directors, each president presents a call to action to help guide members and chapters as we strive to fulfill our mission.

Congratulations to our 3 Sigma European Chapters, Sigma Capitulo Phi Xi, Portugal, Phi Mu chapter, England and Alpha alpha Gamma Croatia  for being awarded the Recognition of Regional Excellence (SRE) 2023-2025. Stellar work has been undertaken during the biennium from these chapters to achieve this recognition. Under the guidance of Presidents Lurdes Lomba, Portugal, Leslie Gelling , England & Boris Iliac Croatia and their respective board members & chapter members
The Purpose of theRecognition of Regional Excellence  is designed to recognize the good work of chapters in relation to the Presidential Call to Action. 

The Chapter Key Award, established in 1991, honors Sigma chapters that excel in chapter-related activities such as:  

  • Membership recruitment and retention
  • Publicity and programming
  • Professional and leadership development
  • Local, national, and international collaboration Congratulations to the Phi Mu chapter their 4th CKA, England and Rho Chi at Large Chapter their 6th  the Netherlands for receiving the Chapter Key Award for the Biennium 2023-2025.





During the Sigma Biennial Convention in November 2021 the Sigma European Regional committee hosted and presented on the topic of Honor the Past, Remember the Present, Create the Future: Celebrating Sustainability and Cultural Literacy across European Nurses and Midwives.
